The Walker Mountain Landfill is managed by the City of Rome's Solid Waste Processing and Disposal Department. The Rome-Floyd Solid Waste Commission governs both the Walker Mountain Landfill and the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center. The landfill is meant for items that are not accepted at remote sites. The landfill does not accept bagged household garbage from individuals.
