The Floyd County Board of Assessors (BOA) are a three-member board made up of Floyd County property owners, appointed by the Board of Commissioners.

The BOAs' major duties include:

  • receiving property tax returns
  • receiving and reviewing homestead exemption applications
  • receiving and reviewing conservation use and forest land protection applications
  • reviewing tax digest changes
  • completing and approving yearly tax digest for submission to Georgia Department of Revenue.

Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 9:00 a.m in the 3rd floor Boardroom at the former Law Enforcement Center located at 5 Government Plaza. Caucus will be held the preceding Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. All meetings are open to the public and citizens are encouraged to attend.
