The historical building serves as City Hall for Cave Spring. It was constructed in 1848, and is one of the oldest buildings in Floyd County. It served as a hospital for Union and Confederate soldiers during the Civil War. It was visited by noted Americans such as Helen Keller.

2019 - Project completed. Structural Stabilization and Rehabilitation of the Historic 1848 Fannin Hall for Municipal office space for the City offices and the Police Department.

6.23.2014 - Demolition of the old auditorium will begin, followed by the asbestos abatement in Fannin Hall.
