Status Updates

2.13.2024 - the Floyd County Board of Commissioners:

Approved a request from Purchasing to award a bid to Maxair Mechanical, LLC for the Replacement of Water Heaters and Storage Tank for the Floyd County Prison in the amount of $83,120 using 2017 SPLOST funds. This vendor submitted a proposal that met our specifications and offers the best pricing for the purchase of the Rinnai Water Heaters and 486 Gallon Storage Tank replacement;

Approved a request from Purchasing to approve J & A Engineering Consultants for engineering/design for the Prison fire alarm replacement project in the amount of $8,340.00 using 2017 SPLOST funds. J & A Engineering has submitted a proposal to develop specifications for bidding purposes, assist with bid review, provide work progress inspections and final inspection;

Approved a request from Purchasing to approve the use of Professional Services from E Dunay Design, LLC for Architectural Design of the Floyd County Prison Gym renovations using 2017 SPLOST funds.

Approved a request from Purchasing to approve the award of a bid to American Detention Services for the door control replacement at the Prison in the amount of $95,250.00 using 2017 SPLOST funds.

11.17.2023 - Roof complete, LED lighting project completed except gym. JMS system installed and complete. Upgrade to camera system to be voted on by the Board of Commissioners at their November meeting. Gym plans are in progress. Exhaust fans and control room upgrades in 2024.

3.2023 - Water heaters replaced. Security doors replaced. LED lighting underway. Upgrade to camera system currently in progress.
