Proposal to reconstruct and rehabilitate substandard sidewalk, bridge railings and structural deficiencies of Broad Street Bridge, and similar deficiencies at Unity Point, including its riverbank.

These projects located at or near the confluence of the Etowah and Oostanaula Rivers are unique features with scenic views and a historically significant arch span bridge. The existing facilities provide transportation connectivity for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists on boat our street and trail systems. Erosion from river flow and deterioration by other natural aging processes necessitate rehab to preserve these valuable resources.

Status Updates

At this time, Design for a canoe launch and streambank stabilization is under contract with CTI Engineers. When all permits are acquired and Design Plans are complete, the City of Rome will issue a RFP to complete the work. After work is complete remaining funds will be evaulated to determine future work.
