JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of this classification is to perform advanced secretarial functions in support of the Floyd County Prison. 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Processes a variety of documentation associated with departmental operations, per established procedures, and within designated time frames; transcribes meeting proceedings.
  • Prepares warden’s monthly report and e-mail copies to Georgia Department of Corrections, the warden, deputy warden, and business manager.
  • Distributes documentation or maintains records.
  • Composes, prepares, and/or generates routine correspondence, meeting minutes, work schedules, and other documents manually or via computer and/or typewriter.
  • Assists with front office duties, maintaining employee information, and employee files.
  • Prepares payroll and maintains officer duty rosters.
  • Prepares/files inmate disciplinary reports, incident reports, files for release and transfers of inmates.
  • Maintains and files all inmate paperwork, and responsible for researching people who inmates are requesting to come on a special visit.
  • Coordinates with the Floyd County Human Resources Department and other agencies to set up the new hire process.
  • All other administrative duties. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or G.E.D. and one (1) year of experience in secretarial work; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Achieve Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) terminal operator certification within six (6) months of hire.
