Larry Maxey
Larry is a life-long resident of Floyd County and a graduate of Armuchee High School and Berry College. He was a member of the 101st Airborne and served his country in Vietnam where he was awarded a Purple Heart. He is the president of Lakes Construction Company and a real estate agent at Garden Lakes Realty. Larry is married to Patricia Maxey.
Larry is currently a deacon and Sunday School teacher at New Armuchee Baptist Church. He also serves as a trustee at Shorter University. Larry is a member of the Rome Board of Realtors and the Rome Home Builders Association. He has been recognized by the Rome Board of Realtors for 40 years of service. Larry is a former chair of the Floyd County Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Maxey currently represents the Board of Commissioners as Chair of the Administrative Services Committee and Chair of the Redevelopment Agency. He serves as Alternate on the Public Utilities & Transportation Committee. In addition, he serves on the Rome-Floyd Solid Waste Commission, Highland Rivers Health Governing Board, Rome-Floyd Joint Services, Rome-Floyd Joint Oversight Committee, and the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
