2024 Scrap Tire Recycling Event

Friday, October 18, 2024 - 9:00am to 2:00pm

Join the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center for their 2024 Scrap Tire Event on Friday, October 18, and Saturday, October 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the GE Trails, located at 1935 Redmond Circle, Rome.

Guidelines for Residential Tire Recycling:

  • Ten tires per vehicle (limit two farm tractor tires)
  • Must have Floyd County tag (or other proof of residency)
  • No commercial tires (tractor trailer, skid steer, fork lift, dirt track, etc.)
  • No tires on rims
  • Tires must be clean and dry
  • Multiple trips are not allowed for individual vehicles
  • No appointment required

The Tire Amnesty Event is made possible thanks to a grant from the Environmental Protection Division’s (EPD) Local Government Scrap Tire Abatement Reimbursement (STAR) Program. This grant will reimburse Floyd County for the cost of transporting and processing scrap tires. It is funded from Georgia’s Solid Waste Trust Fund.

Please contact the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center for questions about the Scrap Tire Amnesty Day at (706)291-5266 or visit the Recycling page for more information.
