Floyd County Library Board of Trustees
The Sara Hightower Regional Library System Board of Trustees are appointed by the funding agents of the library system. The Floyd County Government appoints six members, the City of Rome appoints two members, and the City of Cave Spring appoints one member. One member each is appointed by the Floyd County Board of Education and the Rome City Board of Education. The Polk County Government appoints two members and the cities of Rockmart and Cedartown appoint one member each. One member is selected to represent the Polk County School District. The Chattooga County Government appoints one member and the cities of Summerville and Trion appoint one member each. Trustees serve entirely as volunteers. The Sara Hightower Regional Library System greatly appreciates the board members’ service to our library system.
The SHRLS Board of Trustees meets on a quarterly basis at the Rome-Floyd County Library, 205 Riverside Parkway, Rome, unless otherwise noted. The quarterly meetings are held on the third Thursday of February, May, August, and November beginning at 4:00 p.m. The Buildings Committee meets at 3:00 p.m., the Finance Committee at 3:30 p.m., followed by the full Board at 4:00 p.m.
