The Georgia Secretary of State’s Office has recently issued a bulletin with a directive as to absentee by mail ballot applications for voters meeting criteria of advanced age or disability. Based on this directive and the applicability to local special elections, the Floyd County Board of Elections and Voter Registration finds it important to provide clarification of O.C.G.A 21-2-381 (a)(1)(G) as it pertains to voters meeting the criteria of advanced age or disability.

Coosa Precinct Name Change PUBLIC NOTICE: Coosa Precinct Name Change to Coosa (North Carolina)

In respect to Floyd County’s rich history, the Floyd County Board of Elections and Voter Registration has elected to alter the naming of what was previously known as the Coosa precinct, to now the Coosa (North Carolina) precinct, effective immediately.  Originally, the Board decided to change the name from North Carolina to Coosa due to confusion within the electorate believing they had been registered to vote out of state.

(Floyd County, GA) — The Floyd County Office of Elections and Registration has identified significant issues with absentee ballots placed in the mail service and the return rate of those absentee ballots.
